A proposal for Robert E. Lee monument in New Orleans
is commissioned by the New York Times for Monuments for a New Era. It reimagines a former Robert E. Lee monument in New Orleans as a living monument thus creating a space for confronting America’s history of slavery and segregation and acknowledging their ongoing manifestations and the healing that can take place through reconciliation.
